On our ride into camp, clouds gathered, the wind picked up, and rain began to fall. Lightning flashed and thunder echoed off the cliffs as we raced along the narrow, winding dirt/pavement mix for a truly epic arrival. From the shelter of our cabins, the thunderheads cleared as quickly as they arrived, and were treated to a truly magnificent sunset. Dinner and fire back at cabins for the gang's last Nova Scotia campout together. 🥹🏕️🔥

Rest day in Halifax spent...tending to bikes, but Rest day in Halifax spent...tending to bikes, but in Canada! 🤪 Stage 1 continues 197 miles from Halifax to Port Hastings, NS with a quick hello to the Cow Bay moose 🫎 The gang is all together for some fried pepperoni, and we're set up for the Cabot Trail.
Yarmouth to Halifax, 236 miles/380 km. Buzz by Sha Yarmouth to Halifax, 236 miles/380 km. Buzz by Shag Harbour UFO Center, picnic lunch, the softest seize, and a cable ferry. SO much thanks to Mike and Elyssa who had dinner and cold drinks ready when we rolled in. 🙇🏻‍♂️😋 The gang's all here, now we are 6!

Fleeing the heat, the Airhead contingent blasted north through Maine, pausing only for some rest stop poetry and refreshments, a few bike adjustments, and to pet some cats. We raced onto the CAT ferry, and 3.5 hours later they let us into Nova Scotia (fools)! Lemme tell ya, starting cold airheads on a ferry surrounded by big modern bikes and immediately navigating a metal grate ramp with a 90 degree turn was...spicy. Our reward: Lobster and reunion with 2 of the scooter contingent. 🚀🏍️🏍️🛵🛵🦞

R65 got some attention from @duncansbeemers while I was away (huge thanks to @justinhandfield for storing and hauling it around 🥹). Ofc shakedown ride, pack, and campout had to be during a 100°+ F record-high heat wave in MA. 🥵 Threw a last-minute windscreen on there, hoping it’ll help when I get to the Plains. 🤞 Let’s GTFO from this heat and launch with friends for Stage 1: Nova Scotia.

This summer, I’m rescuing my BMW motorcycle that h This summer, I’m rescuing my BMW motorcycle that has been sitting in storage in MA since 2022. Stage 0: Crossing Canada...by train! The Canadian runs 2775 miles (4466 kms) between Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON on a 4-night-4-day journey. I’ve wanted to take this train for years, this was the perfect excuse to finally do it. Four days of breathtaking views, amazing meals, and conversations with people from around the world. The landscape transformed from the majesty of the Rockies to expansive canola fields and grain elevators, then hills grew and trees returned, but different trees, and lakes, so many lakes. Moose, beaver, pelicans (!), and bison made an appearance. A real sense of the scale of Canada, and a preview of the terrain I intend to cross on my old motorcycle. See you in Toronto! 🚂👋🇨🇦
